Welcome to our service today. After the service we will be meeting on zoom for coffee and apple pie (bring your own). The link is here
Next week is our church AGM on zoom at 12.15pm. Members should have received an information pack. If you are a church member and have not received one then please get in touch with Vic (our church secretary) and he will pass on the information. Included in the pack is a postal vote for our Deacons elections and we ask that you return that by Saturday 28th November to the church building. If you are unable to get it to the church building, but want to vote, then please get in touch so we can pick up your voting slip.
Next Sunday is also the first Sunday in Advent. We are not meeting in person but we still wait with anticipation! Our Advent Bible Studies start this week on zoom - we have two repeating sessions one on Monday 23rd at 8pm and one on Wednesday 25th at 10.30am. All are welcome. There are other exciting things happening in advent - watch out this week for more information that will be coming out (including details of our Talent Show Christmas Party on the 12th December (excited?)).
Worship
"The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid" Psalm 27:1
Michael leads us in our opening prayer
Songs for today (you might want to save a couple for towards the end of the service)
God's Goodness
In Jeremiah 31:3 it says that God has 'loved you with an everlasting love'. What does it mean to love in this way?
Have a watch of 'Guess How Much I Love You?" and it might give you some sort of idea (however God's love is even better than this!)
Craft Challenge:
When we think of love as everlasting we think of it going on forever and ever and ever and ever and ever.......
As we think about God's love being everlasting, take up the challenge to make the longest paper chain you have ever seen. When you've made it you might want to use it as the start of your Christmas decorations. However long you make it, God's love is more.
(If you don't know how to make paper chains here is a video showing you how to! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JONehS8aHBA)
Word
Claire continues our sermon series on Finding Hope in the Shadows looking at Jeremiah 31:1-14. You might want to read the passage before watching the video, which you can find here
